I started this trip with Miss Super Park at Keystone, which was a really fun experience. We got there the night before. Checked out the course, and it was a blue bird day. It looked fun and a little scary because there were a lot of death gaps. But after watching others hit it, I got up the courage and it turned out to be wicked fun! Keystone made a fun course. Starting out with a sunny day was awesome, but the next two days were cloudy or snowy, which made for fun jib days. There where some speed issues, but sling shooting people always helps :) And the last day we had sun, so we got to jump! It was a fun day.
I tried getting a shot for snowboarder magazine, on this one feature, but took it too deep and sprained my ankle. I really wanted to get a shot on their online updates but didn’t. Keeping my fingers crossed, maybe I get one in the magazine. Luckily I got a shot with my friend Michelle.
After Colorado I went off to California for Billabong Flaunt it. This has been my favorite competition of the year. It used to be at Mount Tremblant in Canada, but this year it was at Sierra at Tahoe. I think this was a good move. They had a fun set up for us: two down rails to choice from, and then two jumps. We got a good amount of practice, and then about 5 runs. I wish it could have moved faster, we did a lot of standing around. But I landed my run and came in 4th. It was a little sketchy but I landed a switch back 540 to back 540 last run.
After the competition I stayed in Tahoe to chill with some friends from college, and others meet along the way. The Flaunt-it after party was at a bowling alley. I haven’t been bowling in so long, it was awesome to play. I’m pretty sure I’m going to move to Tahoe next season. But first, I’m going back to Mount Hood for the summer!
