SIA 2015

In January, I went to SIA to network and meet old friends as well as do some media work for Shred Betties.  This was a different experience from my last show. I had more time to stay in Denver and was able to see a lot more. Working with Shred Betties, I met with companies to find out what's new. I met so many people at so many snowboard/ski companies. Two of those companies were Zeal Optics and Outdoor Tech.
I have been trying to work with Zeal for a couple of years and I'm really excited to be officially be a part of such a great company.  Their goggles and lenses alway push limits and are always very well made.  I really like how Zeal encourages people to get outside more and explore. I love getting people excited about the outdoors to play and protect it.
Outdoor Tech is another great company I'm excited to now be a part of.  They make great headphones, speakers, and external batteries.  Their devices have bluetooth which means no wires to tangle or trip over and a lot of the gear is water proof or at least water resistant. Outdoor Tech's rubber like finishes are a nice touch when out in the elements and far from a flat, safe surface. I had never played with such well thought out electronics at an outdoor sports show. Their summer line is wicked cool.
This is some Outdoor Tech gear.

I had a great show and i'm excited to be working with these amazing companies!

The last night was a Yelawolf show. It is was awesome to get to see his show and be out with friends after a busy few days. Outside, the event snow had been dumping in the streets.  It was a nice surprise. We ran like children in the snow for like the first time. It was a great ending to a great week.

Shred Betties session at Windells

Windells session 8, we got a Shred Betties session. I waited all summer for this week to ride Windells. First Britt came in and she stayed with me. Later Sabrina showed up from Canada, she also stayed with us. We were told we could not ride Windells till Thursday and it was Monday we had a day to fill. We were going to go camp and surf after I got done work. But that morning we found out we could go Thursday so we only had one day to surf. So I called in work and we sent it to the cost. We went to Cannon Beach to get set up for our surf adventure. We went to Clean Line for our gear they are great to rent surf gear from. After packing the gear up we sent it to Short Sand beach to work on our beginner skills. There is a little similarity's to snowboarding, but reading the waves and catching a wave is nothing like anything I've done before. However I did get to ride one wave which was fun I can't wait to get to work on surfing some more. I have so much respect for surfers. After surfing we retuned the gear and found food. Then we needed to head back to Hood to get ready for the next days of snowboarding. First day it was just the three of us and Riley Shred Bettie's grom. This was a fun worm up day check out the park n get use to the new set up. The next day most of the girls were there it was great to ride with them, sadly short lived. We hit the rails and worked on getting shots. We all had success. I only got one day, because I had to work the next day. However there was one more day with the girls to try tricks and get some shots. I did learn some rail and jump tricks so stoked on that. Later the girls had to leave and I had to work a couple of more days and then head back east to New Hampshire the home land. I do love the times getting be with the Shred Bettie's girls, hopefully we can get together more. Oregon is filled with beautiful scenery, sunsets, water and hikes; I love this place and seem to always end up back there.

Trip West

As soon as my job ended at Loon Mountain, I left New Hampshire and headed to Utah to visit my Wasatch Project friends. During this time we went on a camping trip into a backcountry zone in the Uintas, outside of Evingston. We road pow and we built a backcountry jump! it was awesome!
Following this we headed to Colorado to Summit County for nationals. I went to ride and see friends, no competing for me. Colorado also got some good snow, not to mention we were able to get some park riding in too! It was a pretty successful trip, I love Colorado and I’m always happy when I can get out there.
After we left CO it was back to slushy park at Park City, we got some park shots and learned new tricks. Getting ready for Ms Superpark, which was the next stop! Slushy park riding is fun but can hurt or be wicked slow totally a different way of riding than back east.

The last destination was Ms Superpark at Mammoth Mountain, another one of my favorite places to visit. Ms superpark is an all girl event thrown by snowboarder mag. It gives us ladies the opportunity to ride an awesome setup and shoot some photos and videos, all while having a great time together! Its great to see the ladies and my other local friends in Mammoth, love that place!

It’s been an awesome couple of weeks, but the adventures haven’t stopped yet! I am now back in Utah filming with the Wasatch project. We are working on a video that has no park, so getting creative in the snow that's still here. Check back here for another update shortly!

The start of winter

After all my traveling, I had to get a job, this went well I had two serving jobs. however in one day that changed and I know serve at the Mnt Club on Loon and work at the Adventure Center doing snowshoe tours. A big change but way more my speed. I have gotten to do a couple of rail jams here in NH, like Cease and Desits were I got 2nd, and waterville's TransAm were I got 2nd also. Some Shred Betties girls also came and we make a great weekend out of it, you can read more at www.shredbetties.com I can't put in a link for so reason. Its great to have friends here on the east, I still want to make a trip west if not two. I also got some new stuff from INI which I'm supper stoked on. Finally theres enough snow that I have broken out the new deck from Homewood also a supper fun board, I'm really excited to be apart of there team. This winter I hope to learn new thinks and be a better rider athlete all around, thank you to my sponsors for helping me along the way. Shred Ready, Homewood Snowboards, I/O merino, INI cooperative, and Shred Betties, Thank you and Cheers to the New Year!!

Trip to the South

So this past month I was in the south taking in my last chance of summer. Also to see my cousin in over a year. We don't get to see each other much but when we do we are joined at the hip like we never parted. I love this girl so much we are each others best friends. So shortly after getting home I traveled down to DC were she lived. We spent a day there, and then headed south to Charleston SC. She has a friend that lives right near the water in a cute neighborhood. Charleston is a pretty cool city I liked it, I even got to see dolphins. We also went to this crazy Angel Oak tree, and the Firefly distillery. This is one of the oldest Oak trees, and it had some crazy shapes it was fun to see. The Distillery is were we tasked what they make, it was pretty fun and bought some of there creations. After Charleston we when down to St Augustine FL to camp for the night and check out the oldest city in the USA. Camping is always fun, except we had too scare off the racoons all the time. They are creepy creatures. We even got robed by them! maybe we had to much moonshine and forgot but still they robed us. In St Augustine we got some Christmas shopping done and checked out the fort. Then the rain came so we moved on to our next stop Jacksonville FL. Where we meet up with a friend of Lairen's, we spent the night and then headed to her mothers place in the boonies of the south. It was fun to see how the true southerners live. After we headed to the white sandy beaches of FL were her Dad my cousin live we had alot of fun hanging out with her friends. We got to try surfing, still wicked hard. And then my poor 4runner had to get fixed, if my cousin didn't try and find this bad noise we would have been stranded in the deep south. My fly wheel was almost broken in two. This could have distorted including me and Lairen. Lucky it got all fixed and we headed north for out other cousins wedding. this is a sunset in the bayou Once we made it back we had to participate in family stuff with the wedding, my and Lairen were really good at being late. However we did make it. It was a fun wedding my cousin is hitched. So after all this great fun, we couldn't stop we had to go to a Phish concert, my first Lairen's 10th I think and our other cousin's 20 years for Phish concerts. This was a great experience and time! I'm so glad I got to go! there's to many stories and friends i meet to even go on but what an epic concert and time!! Till next time!

End of summer

This end of summer has come to a bad end. Me and my boyfriend broke up,(I'm really glad about that lol) I do not have enough point to even try for the Olympic Games because of last year :(. and I'm going back to New Hampshire for the fall, hoping to regroup and get a good head on my shoulders. For a great season to come! So my Dad flew out and we drove across country back to New Hampshire. I was a little unsure about this drive, but it was quite fun. First we drove west to San Francisco to see the cost and visit some family. That was the first time I got to see the California cost! So beautiful! It was great to see family too. We saw all the sights and the World Cup was going on too, so that was fun to watch. Next we drove a little south to Big Sur to drive down route 101. What a sight the pacific coast. Then the drive east began, our next stop was SLC Utah. We didn't do much here but did check out Alta in the summer. It's a wicked mountain! Later we drove up to Jackson WY. The scenic way had some wicked sick views. Finally we made it to Jackson Hole, and there was some big tours going on! There were so many people. We got to check out Tetons and Yellowstone National parks. The parks weren't to busy though. They were some crazy places I need to ride there ASAP! I'm glad I finally got to go there though. Those mountains are amazing! I also got to see my friend/coach Dustin, it's great to see friends! After Yellowstone we drove east to Mount Rushmore. When we first got out there the clouds were in pretty thick and we couldn't see anything. So we decide to stay and hope it was clear the next morning. That night we went to the lighting ceremony, here they asked all veterinarians to help fold the flag and introduce themselves. I had to make my Dad go but I think he is glad he did. So luckily it was clear the next morning, and we got to take the walk around the bottom of the sculpture. I really wished we could climb to the top but they don't allow that. When we stopped by Delves Tower which you can climb I will have to get a crew and ascend the tower. That Is a crazy land mark that was used a lot during the Oregon Trail days. So after the looking at Mount Rushmore we headed east to the Badlands, this is just a crazy section of land that is all sandstone and limestone or something that made crazy mountains, spires, and flat top plains, also it was wicked dry. This was Native American land and known for bad travel, with plains all around it. It was a nice start to the rolling plains of SD. Rout 90 is by far the most interesting way to drive west or east over 70 and 80. Coming into Chicago we hit rain and traffic for miles, it was crazy and long. Finally we made it to NY were we stopped by family, which was great to see them. A short 6 hours later we made it home in NH. It was great to be home and stop driving. I cleaned out my car which was very needed, and went south to see my cousin and do our road trip to see each other! More on that later. So I have had an interesting weeks, and I'm working on we're to live this season to make the most out of the season. I am really excited for this season though!!

Hood Shred Bettie's Trip

Last month I got to take a trip with a great group of ladies. The Shred Bettie's Team got to go to High Cascade for a week. This was a great camping trip to meet some of the girls, and Diana. This made being a part of the team a real thing. I sadly didn't get a lot of photos because my phone broke just before the trip. Things happen but here is an ok shot on my drive up.
We spent a lot of time meeting new people and and having fun. We got to meet the girl campers and help make an impression on them. It was also great to be apart of the biggest girl session of High Cascade this season. It was great to watch the girls learn new things and have a great time snowboarding and skating. Going up there was a great part of my summer. Getting to ride High Cascade, and getting to film and take pictures. We also made it down to Hood River and do some cliff jumping and shopping, we also watched Tawnya skate the park in Hood River. Which was cool to watch I sometimes with I could skate. This trip made some great friends and got to see old once, I feel blessed to be apart of Shred Betties. Thank you Homewood snowboards, Shred Ready, I/O Merino, and Shred Betties for making this trip possible
